“Get my daughter to walk again… and I’ll adopt you.” But what the orphan discovered changed everything.

“Please let my daughter walk again and I’ll adopt you,” the wealthy man had promised. But what the orphaned child did…

Eduardo Hernández was at the end of his rope. Two years had passed since his daughter Sofía had stopped walking, and even the most expensive doctors in Mexico City had been unable to find a physical explanation for the condition of the only five-year-old girl.

It was then that a boy in worn clothes approached him in the corridor of the private hospital where Sofía was having another physiotherapy session. The child was no more than nine years old, but his eyes reflected a maturity that did not correspond to his age.

“You’re the father of the little girl in the wheelchair, aren’t you?” asked the boy, looking Eduardo straight in the eyes.
