“What are you talking about?”

Instead of answering, she slipped a folded note into my hand.

“Go to this address tomorrow at five o’clock,” she whispered. “You need to see it for yourself.”

Before I could stop her, she turned and walked out of the reception hall. I watched her disappear through the door, completely stunned.

For the rest of the evening I tried to behave normally, smiling for photos and cutting the wedding cake, but inside my mind was spinning with fear. I kept looking at Tobias across the room and wondering whether I had somehow made a terrible mistake.
